FutureHAUS Branding

FutureHAUS Branding

The Virginia Tech FutureHAUS™ is an advanced design for the home of the future. Utilizing best practices from manufacturing industries, i.e. automotive and aerospace, their goal is to design and build modular structures that integrate smart technologies, energy-efficient systems, and new materials. This produced design, an energy-positive home will ensure a new, more efficient, accessible, livable, and beautiful way of living.

FutureHAUS approached PRISM, a student-led organization, to develop a brand identity for these homes. Additionally, FutureHAUS’ team has been working with industry partners, such as Kohler, Microsoft, and Corning to integrate and develop new technologies.

Role:
I worked on the branding identity with my coworker, Mary-Louise Wang, and our department head Meaghan Dee. We developed a detailed visual identity that included a modern, futuristic tone of voice, VT branded color palette, t-shirt designs, and patterns that would be implemented as design elements of these homes.
